While participation continues to grow across many scientific disciplines, representation in women in science leadership roles is still evolving.<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">To mark International Women\u2019s Day, we asked several women across Consult Lhasa to reflect on the people who influenced their careers, the challenges they have navigated and the advice they would offer to others building a path in science and leadership.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This year\u2019s theme,\u00a0Give to Gain, highlights the role mentorship, encouragement and shared opportunity play in shaping careers. Growing up in Romania, her mother valued education deeply but did not have the opportunity to attend university. She continued learning throughout her life, reading\u00a0widely\u00a0and teaching herself new languages later in adulthood.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">That determination influenced how Crina approached her own education and career. She went on to study natural sciences and later completed a PhD in computational chemistry at Heidelberg University, working in a technical field where women were still underrepresented at the time.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-0bd639b elementor-blockquote--skin-border
